You are paid per completed job, not by the hour, and with 5-star bonuses your job pay typically works out to about $25 to $35 an hour, depending on your market, the size of the home, and how efficiently you work. You keep 100% of every tip, and an $8 gas stipend is included on every job so you are never paying out of pocket to reach your clients. Bigger homes pay more. Faster, more efficient partners earn more per hour because they finish jobs sooner. The math is published clearly so you always know what you will earn before you accept a job.

Real talk before you apply

Most cleaning platforms pay low because they accept low quality. We pay well above the rest because we do not. Every clean has to meet the 50-point standard, every single visit. Premium pay comes with premium expectations.

And we hold the line on it. If a clean falls short of that standard, whether our photo review catches it or a customer raises a concern, we expect you to make it right: return promptly and re-clean the area in question at no additional charge to the customer. Standing behind your own work is not optional here. It is the core of the partnership, and it is exactly what lets us pay above everyone else.

TotalCare Cleaning partners are experienced professionals who take pride in their craft. Before applying, confirm you meet every requirement below.

2+ Years Professional Cleaning Experience

Residential cleaning experience in occupied homes required. This isn't an entry-level opportunity.

Professional Equipment and Reliable Transportation

Vehicle, smartphone, vacuum, and professional-grade supplies required. You come prepared.

Clean Background Record

All partners must pass a comprehensive federal background screening. Zero tolerance for theft or violent offenses.

Detail-Driven Mindset

You notice what others miss and take ownership of your results. The 50-Point TotalCare Cleaning Standard isn't a suggestion, it's the expectation.

$1M Liability Insurance

Approved partners must carry or obtain $1,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance and name TotalCare Cleaning LLC as Additional Insured prior to first service.

Do I need my own supplies and equipment?+

Yes. As an independent professional, you bring your own cleaning products, equipment, and reliable transportation. You choose the brands and tools you trust to meet the 50-Point Standard, most of our top partners run a HEPA-filter vacuum and color-coded microfiber.

Is this a W-2 job or 1099 contractor work?+

You are a 1099 independent contractor running your own business. You set your availability, accept the jobs that fit your life, and TotalCare Cleaning handles client demand, booking, communication, and billing so you can focus on the work.

How and when do I get paid?+

Weekly, by direct deposit through Stripe, our payments partner. You earn your base pay per completed job, plus an $8 gas stipend on every job, 100% of every tip, and a $10 bonus on each 5-star review. The full pay is shown clearly before you ever accept a job.

Do I need insurance?+

Yes. Approved partners carry, or obtain before their first job, a personal $1,000,000 general liability policy. It protects both you and the client, and it is part of what lets us position you as a true professional.

Do I have to work set hours?+

No. You choose your own availability and accept only the opportunities that fit your schedule. No mandatory hours and no forced assignments, just consistent client demand when you want it.

What areas do you serve, and how soon can I start?+

TotalCare Cleaning operates in 300+ markets nationwide and is expanding. After you apply, qualified candidates move through a phone interview, a face-to-face interview, and a background check before the first job is assigned. The stronger your application, the faster it moves.

15-Minute Phone Interview

Qualified applicants are contacted to schedule a 15-minute phone interview with Cara from the TotalCare Cleaning team. We evaluate communication, professionalism, and alignment with the TotalCare Cleaning standard. Most applicants do not advance past this stage.

Face-to-Face Interview

Applicants who pass the phone screen meet a member of the TotalCare Cleaning team live, face to face over video. This is where we confirm you are a true cleaning professional, your hands-on experience, the products and methods you trust, and how you carry yourself in a client’s home. It is the final gate before any background check, and not everyone clears it.

Background Check & Identity Verification

Every finalist undergoes a full national criminal background check powered by Checkr, a nationwide sex offender registry search, and government-issued photo ID verification. All checks must clear before any offer is extended.

Team Review & Onboarding

The TotalCare Cleaning team conducts a final review of every candidate. Those who are approved must sign a binding Professional Conduct Agreement, including a commitment to follow the 50-Point Checklist on every visit, and submit proof of a personal $1,000,000 liability insurance policy before their first booking is assigned. You will be contacted directly if selected.
